Beau Is Afraid

So what can you even say? Jesus this movie man. It surprised me on so many levels. I was going into it expecting not really anything. And holy fucking shit was a good movie. I don't know what to say. It's one of those movies. Well no, I can't say that. There's never been a movie like this before. It does so many weird things, that some may love and others may hate. I loved all of it. This is very much an experimental film. And it does this weird thing, that makes you want to stop watching. You WANT to stop watching this movie. Yet somehow, you can't. Sometimes it can feel like the biggest drag ever, but even when it does this, you don't feel bored. You want to keep watching. It's crazy. The art style is also AMAZING. So so beau-tiful... hehe. Of course they are, it's Ari Aster. But I've never seen a film to leave me with so many emotions. Sadness, anxiety, relief, confusion, love and so much more. It's truly a wild ride. And holy shit Joaquin Phoenix does an amazing acting job. He really just proved how fucking goof he is. Of course he has proven it before, but Id forgotten about that. So holy shit, good job. So, great movie, but by no means for everyone. I feel like a lot of people will hate this movie or dislike it. But I feel like few people, like me, will find a way to enjoy this movie. And fuck will we enjoy it.
