AMAZING ALL AROUND???? i may be biased because my two pooks r in it but acting aside, the music and use of sound was beautiful and incredibly effective. used romcom elements while slowly sliding into the serious part of the main topic. love the narrative about guilt and morality. loved the constant juxtaposition of the different situations. the way emma was constantly starting from scratch until the very end?? the way their friends didnt judge charlie because he was "just 14" but when emma said she was just fifteen they said it didn't matter? the scenes where charlie is holding young emma? insane. beautiful and fucked up and so, sooooo new and fresh. didn't dislike a single thing about this

cried again i hope him and sylvia met in the real world and went to fuji together :(

absolutely breathtaking. struggled to connect with the characters but loved them all the same, specially the relationship between shunsuke and kikuo, which leads me to think they might be underdeveloped in comparison to the original piece. beautiful nonetheless.

good! topic hit a lil close to home, not in the matter of having an absent father, but in the recurrent dismissal that comes with having one that has hurt you. the ending was sweet but left things unresolved, which also feels typical for a bad relationship with your parent. loved all scenes between nora and agnes, especially the last one. also all movies about filmmaking and theater have a special place in my heart. the ikea propaganda didn't go unnoticed LOL
