Hamnet
Raw, cruel, visceral, deep, moving. Exploration of grief through religion and through art. This was so devastating to watch. Jessie Buckley for sure deserves the nom for best actress but I felt Paul mescal was snubbed as he was unbelievable as well. The child actors are also incredible, especially Jacobi Jude in the role of Hamnet. Felt it could have used a longer runtime to flesh the characters out more thoroughly, specifically the intricacies of Williams (Mescal) and Agnes’s (Buckley) relationship. That said, the final twenty -or so- minutes were pitch perfect. Music choice also gutting as “on the nature of daylight” was in my playlist long before this film. Didn’t expect it and it hit me like a truck. Great all around
