You watch these characters fall in love and then out of it as their careers advance, and they are both happy for each other but can’t stay together. And even if you didn’t somehow find that great, the ending is something else completely. If you somehow stumbled apon my review and haven’t watched lala land, GO WATCH IT. Finally Damien chazell who’s already a masterclass of endings delivers this amazing scene. And that DAMN PIANO MELODY OMG ITS SO GOOD. Anyways it sparks something inside of you that you don’t forget that makes you so sad but slightly hopeful.
