From Ground Zero
22 different short stories all from different artists showing the genocide from Palestinians POV. Such a moving and heartbreaking story and although it was not gory or bloody it was still horrendous seeing the horrors these innocent people have been living with for over a year now.
The three stories that truly stuck out to me were “ Sorry Cinema” which was about an aspiring Palestinian director who’s only dream was to watch his film on the big screen since Palestine has no Cinemas. After 4 years of hard work his film was finally finished and even won international awards, but due to this genocide no one apart of this film was able to watch the film at the ceremony and receive the award.
“Soft Skin” in my opinion was the most heartbreaking story. It showed smiling kids in a class room making a stop motion story, it changed back and forth between the stop motion story and the classroom of kids talking about how their parents have written their names on each of their limbs. The children explain it is so “when we get blown up into pieces they can identify us.” Elementary school kids are fully aware that one day they are likely to be blown into pieces which is hard to imagine how that must feel.
Finally, “A School Day” starts with a young boy collecting his school books from his tent in the refugee camp, and his long walk to a graveyard, where he sits down next to his former teachers grave to sit and study the books. Truly heartbreaking that this is a normal school day for Palestinian children.
If you support Israel’s Actions and the silence from Western Media then please watch this film and educate yourself about this genocide 🇵🇸🍉
