La Chimera
“you’re not made for human eyes.”
some things are just too sacred to posses, which makes us ask ourselves, “what is ours?” la chimera slowly and patiently unfolds the question, drifting between longing and loss, revealing how the past can tether us and become a restraint for living in the present, as our memories haunt us at any given moment.
this film was enchanting, captivating, and thought-provoking. josh o’connor’s performance was outstanding. the cinematography was beautiful. the amount of symbolism and mysticism used throughout the film made it feel poetic and lyrical - the entirety of it was poetry itself. it wasn’t in a rush to tell the story, instead it gradually fell apart on its own. i would love to rewatch this again to see if i can get anything else out of it or view it from a new perspective.
