Bugonia
Bugonia really messed with my brain in the best way. It reminded me how bizarre humans actually are. We spend so much time imagining aliens as these terrifying, powerful things that will come here to wipe us out like a threat,a warning. We drown ourselves in conspiracy theories about ''elites” and shapeshifters and laser-eyed monsters but we never look at the one species that’s actually hurting us the most:us.
Humans destroy ourselves slowly, quietly, very casually. With our fears,our jealousy,our delusions,our need to blame anything but our own choices. We love to believe that something unfamiliar is responsible for the bad things happening in our world, when the truth is way simpler and way scarier: we’re the reason.
The ending absolutely nailed that idea. It felt so cinematic and metaphorically sharp that it scratched something deep in my brain.
This movie lwk made me see people differently for a second, and that’s why it deserves rarely but surely the 5 stars.
