Hamnet
First of all, I think Hamnet is a beautifully made movie and honestly amazing to watch. One of the first things that really stood out to me was the music. The score is so well written and full of emotion, it tells you so much without needing words, and it fits the movie perfectly.
I also want to talk about the direction. Chloé Zhao does an incredible job working with the actors and creating such real, emotional connections between them. Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal have amazing chemistry, and it feels very honest and natural. And the kids… they’re just incredible. Their performances are so touching and real, it’s hard to believe how good they are.
Lastly, the script is beautiful. Everything feels thoughtful and intentional, and all the pieces come together in such a meaningful way. Overall, Hamnet is a gorgeous, emotional film. And fair warning: you will probably cry if you watch it. Definitely a must-watch.
