Parasite
the hate for people who romanticize rain?UNDERSTANDABLE.
the hate for nepo babies?ALSO UNDERSTANDABLE.the hate for contractors and gov’t officials stealing flood control funds while people are drowning? BEYOND UNDERSTANDABLE.the hate for celebrities, influencers, and rich people pretending to care while staying warm and dry in their condos? NECESSARY.the hate for being told “resilience” is enough? EXHAUSTING.
rich people love rain because they’ve never had to scoop floodwater out of their living rooms. they think it's aesthetic. a vibe. meanwhile, the rest of us are climbing rooftops with wet rice and dead phone batteries. watching Parasite now, in the middle of all these floods in the Philippines, just hits different.
it’s not just a movie — it’s a documentary in disguise. the way the poor family scrambles when the rain floods their home, while the rich hosts plan a party the next day like nothing happened? that’s literally what’s happening here. we drown, they celebrate.
and what makes it worse? the same people living in high places are also the ones stealing flood control budgets. millions gone. corruption deep. they’re not just staying dry — they’re profiting off our sinking.
so yeah, Parasite is genius. but the real parasites? still sitting in government, dry as hell, untouched by the flood they helped create.
