A Different Man
I can't believe The Substance is receiving award buzz when this came out in the same year. Sebastian Stan gives an incredible performance, backed by a wonderfully quirky screenplay which is both hilarious and heartbreaking. Newcomer (at least to me) Aaron Schimberg cements himself as a name to watch in both the writing and directing game, with any future releases by him going straight to my "most anticipated" list. Think The Elephant Man in the style of Charlie Kaufman. My favorite film of 2024 (pending The Brutalist), Sebastian Stan has an Oscar in his future.
