Casablanca
Very good movie! Masterfully directed, Casablanca is the quintessential example of a perfect old Hollywood film. Bergman and Bogart give great performances (Humphrey Bogart especially), and the cinematography is some of the best that black and white has to offer, especially for the 1940's. This is my second viewing, and the film was much funnier than I remember, with the character of Louis Renault being responsible for much of the comic relief, and maybe my favorite character in the film. The straightforward plot makes for an engaging watch, although I found my mind wandering toward the middle of the film. A classic in the purest sense, and definitely the second best movie I have seen to come out of the decade of the 1940's (Citizen Kane).
