Revanche
This is so close to being great. The writing, directing, and performances are all fantastic. I love the camera work especially. The thing that really took me out of the film, and I think is what prevents me from loving this, is the cinematography and production design. The movie has a flat and cheap look, reminiscent of a cheap soap opera, and the sets are sterile, look clearly staged and again, look cheap. Normally these things can be ignored in a truly great film with a truly great director; The Celebration is one of my favorite movies of all time, but Götz Spielmann is no Thomas Vinterberg.
