Amadeus
*“Forgive me, Majesty. I am a vulgar man! But I assure you, my music is not.”*

Self absorption, hatred, love, passion, art, pride, greed, resentment, jealousy, perfectionism, and envy crammed into one absolutely perfect film. This movie has been in my watchlist for the LONGEST time and I had never been able to get my hands on it until a couple months ago. I found it in the Walmart $5 bin. Absolute grail. I will rewatch this movie until my eyes fall out of my skull. The entire scene where Mozart and Salieri are composing/writing together is I swear to god a perfect scene followed by an amazing performance on both ends. It gives Salieri a chance to look into the prodigy mind of Mozart, and he is barely able to keep up, further throwing fuel on the fire of burning hatred that he has for him. The ending is just the cherry on top to this 1 of 1. Mozart was and is truly a genius and was whole heartedly devoted to his craft, down to his last breath. Antonio Salieri was the first opp ever.
