Brilliant storytelling and captivating camera work. The story is crafted through these fragments of key pieces that are formed into one cohesive narration. Despite us thinking that we know what's going on, the next scene will always remind us that we know nothing. Detective movies usually have their cliche or whodunnit moment, but this was truly something different, a twist for the genre. One of the best detective media I've probably ever consumed. I believe this movie became a precursor to the upcoming boom of Japanese detective stories in the 2000s.
