Featuring my favourite blue people other than Megamind. 4.5 stars as of March 29, 2026. My Pay-Per-View (PPV) Review: (P) Personal A beautiful, beautiful film. I don't know why I waited so long to finally watch this, maybe I thought it may disappoint as the visuals would be outdated but in no way did it. The planet filled with its flora and fauna was gorgeous and the plot made me feel more emotion than I was expecting to feel. There was not an aspect of this movie I did not enjoy or feel was unnecessary but I do wish there was some more development of the side characters. That is my only fault of this film. I will happily watch this movie again and again, not just for the visuals but for the film as a whole. (P) Plot Coming in I expected a purely alien planet - I honestly was unaware humans had any involvement in the storyline. This was an action-packed movie but I think the storyline held up well despite the heavy reliance on the action. Not the most inspiring, unique plot as Sully's storyline was predictable for me but I think the plot was thoroughly explored over the long runtime. I do think some of the side characters could have been developed a bit better. The main characters though were easy to connect with and had more depth of character. (V) Visuals The visuals are obviously stunning. Even removing this as a product of its time there are no flaws and it looks new. Yes, the sequels do look a bit cleaner but when this is perfection those films are just building off of an already established product. The scenery is memorable and the characters contrast beautifully into the environment. Some of the Earth shots are more dull but I think it works as a contrast to the colourful aesthetic of Pandora. Love the animals too!
