Breathless

This was definitely one of my most anticipated French new wave film. And it definitely did not disappoint, this is one of Godards most popular films and praised by many, it definitely holds its weight.  This movie is nothing short of beautiful, the camera work is outstanding and surprised me since this was made in the 60’s, Godard was truly ahead of his time and I can see the influence he had on cinema. It’s a genius film that questions morality and ethics; it tends to focus in on women stereotypes which pairs well with Patrica layering her character. She is a passionate character with a well written complex personality and one of my favourite female roles of all time. The acting was pinnacle and a joy to watch such skill when it comes to portraying emotions on screen. Breathless has only motivated me to watch more French new wave films and more specifically Godards. I will probably explore a different director next. 95/100
