Sinners

This is why we go to the theaters, this is why people make movies, this is why we need to hear people’s stories. Amazing from top to bottom, right out the gate the opening scene setting the tone and putting us into this world that’s grounded yet you can already feel the supernatural aspects that are also in the movie. Some of the stuff done here I am left to think that only Ryan Coogler can do it, the way he uses the music and the score in this movie  is just unheard of, especially the car scene, and the one-shot scene in the nightclub where you get to see all of the cultures coming together were two of my favorite parts of the whole movie. Every movie that this guy puts out is just the next best thing and I think him and Micheal B Jordan can surpass Scorsese and DiCaprio as the people’s favorite actor director duo if they keep at it. Speaking of Micheal B Jordan GOD do I just absolutely love him, how he put on a better performance in this than he did as Killmonger in Black Panther, and Adonis in Creed baffles me. The guy is unreal and Is one of my favorite actors, hell he might be my favorite after this movie. Although the Micheal B Jordan glaze will be apparent whenever I talk about this movie, I also will acknowledge that every performance in this movie is just fucking awesome. I did not know Hailee Steinfeld had that in her, but she’s amazing, I haven’t see any other Delroy Linder films besides The Harder They Fall but now I will be tuning into more of his stuff cause he steals almost every scene he’s in! Finally I have to talk about Miles Caton, his acting debut and he plays such a big role with some of the biggest actors in the whole world, and he killed it. I want him in more movies as soon as possible, could not get enough of him as Sammie.  Longest review I have had in years but I needed to put down my thoughts about how good this was. Leaving a theater knowing i was going to be able to talk this much is a feeling that I had forgotten about, I haven’t felt this way since probably Across the Spider-Verse or GOTG3. Sinners is one a 10/10, one of the best movies of the decade and is just another example of why we watch movies.
