Awesome visuals and amazing soundtrack that was brought down by a predictable, poorly written plot. The acting was so mid, Jared Leto cannot be the lead actor. I did really enjoy the retro sequence in Flynn’s grid though, looked cool and was the only time the dialogue was somewhat bearable. Also making one of the main villains a bratty, spoiled rich kid who doesn’t know how to run a company was certainly a choice, too cliche. While I was disappointed this couldn’t live up to Tron Legacy, I came for fun visuals and good music and it delivered on that.

One of the greatest soundtracks for a movie of all time in my opinion, but I’m also biased and love Daft Punk. If I saw this movie for the first time today I would probably give it a 3 1/2 stars but I am blinded and biased by nostalgia of watching this while growing up so 4 stars it is. The world building of this movie is incredible, absolutely love the visuals of the grid. The action scenes are wild and awesome. Obviously my biggest complaint is the horrendous de-aging they did on Jeff Bridges face for Clue, but if you can manage to look past it he’s a solid villain. Overall solid plot and acting, incredible visuals and soundtrack, and nostalgia make me love this movie.

The last 20 minutes of this movie was ridiculous.

Did not expect such a banger with the plot of a bunch of dudes walking until it is last man standing. I loved the character development, the movie wastes no time starting and explains the backstory on the walk. The acting was phenomenal, especially by David Jonsson playing Peter. I enjoyed how it was a coming of age film with the main character developing as continues his walk. My only wish is that they would have explained the backstory of this dystopian world more and who exactly the major was but i’m guessing they couldn’t adapt the entire book. Ending was incredible, completely surprised me.
