CloseMax9.5· December 7, 2024Followthis movie really hit me hard because it brought back so many memories of that confusing, bittersweet time of pre-adolescence—the years when everything felt so intense, yet so oblivious. Watching Leo and Remi’s friendship unfold, I couldn’t help but reflect on how we all go through this phase where we’re wrapped up in our own little worlds, completely unaware of how selfish we can be without meaning to. They were so innocent, yet I could see the self-centered view of the world that’s so easy to fall into at that age. It’s like we all walk around in a bubble, thinking everything revolves around us, and the people closest to us—whether we realize it or not—are affected by that. I think about how I was back then, how I couldn’t fully grasp the emotions I was going through. I was too caught up in figuring myself out to realize that the confusion I felt wasn’t just a part of me—it was a reflection of everything I didn’t understand. I can relate to that feeling of guilt Leo goes through, that unspoken pressure that builds up when you start realizing how much you hurt someone, even when you didn’t mean to. It’s so easy to overlook the feelings of those around you when you're still trying to figure out your own. Watching Close made me realize just how messy those years were, and how much we carry with us without even realizing it. We’re so lost, but we don’t understand that until much later. It's like I see that same confusion and guilt I felt, reflected in Leo and Remi’s journey. They weren’t just kids—they were like all of us during those years, lost and trying to make sense of everything around us, and then looking back and feeling guilty when we realize what we didn't understand back then.CommentsSign in to react and join the conversation.Sign inGet the app
