Very nostalgic in the best and worst ways. Hauntingly beautiful.

On the technical side of filmmaking this will rightfully go down as one of the groundbreaking pieces in cinemas history. Using only IMAX 70mm film for an entire 3 hour picture is ridiculous. On the other hand the 'greatest story of mankind' disappoints deeply. Tom Holland calling for mom and dad just so Nolan can be edgy and modern. Chris Nolan getting what rap truly is about (which I truly appreciate) then refusing to shut up about it and casting Travis Scott because why not. Building even larger sets than ever before because we can. Wasting one of the most talented female casts of the last decade, since his writing flaws still haunt him. And lastly Robert Pattinson (who was great) having to deliver the lines "Swords", "Shields" and "Spears" like he is Dora the Explorer pointing out shit, almost made me tear up. Some sequences also did that by flash banging me every 5 seconds or the cutting disaster which is the final battle. Also wayyyyy to loud. There definitely were highlights. The body horror was so much fun. The battle of Troy is best captured here and Odysseus facing the dead was really great. Ludwig being Ludwig. Robert Pattinson is always a joy to watch. Elliot Page stood out. Matt Damon was very good as expected. Samantha Morton owned the role Circe and I would have loved her scenes to be longer. Nolan assembled the most talented people in the industry and just falls short because of his obsession with exceeding limits of practicality and shitty camera formats (in terms of shooting on them). He also **needs** to learn how to write female characters at some point. You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself solely using an overly complicated and limited format, which just stops any form of creative advancement and affects watchability deeply. Front row IMAX and getting brutally mogged by Robert Pattinson was the funniest shit ever. My neck isn’t hurting as bad as I expected. It’s just my ears that probably need medical attention now - as do Chris Nolan’s.
