Lady Bird
“different things can be sad, it’s not all war.”
watching this as my family road trips between two colleges that i used to barely consider, arguing at which is better for me. i’ve never been nervous for college yet, but this movie makes me homesick before i’ve even left home- though i know that wherever i end up, i will have love behind me.
lady bird is a real and raw story on love, truth, and flaws- teaching us that we are not just what we make of ourselves, but a culmination of those we love around us.
teenagers are flawed- maybe the most out of anyone. sometimes we’re stupid, we lie, and we try to rush life. teenagers also love. we love with our whole hearts, we learn how to value ourselves, and we jump because we’re excited to see the world ahead of us.
maybe christine “lady bird” mcpherson didn’t truly “learn her lesson” in this movie but she did learn that she is loved, both for who she is and who she could be.
