Aparajito

'you'd like to stay here like a frog in a well' This absolute gem of a movie successfully creates hope and despair in the same tone as well as a underrated example of isolation caused by change. This movie is so influential and uses it's low budget and moving themes to create a inspiring and moving reflection of poverty in India with great performances from both Kanu and karuna Banerjee and incredibly powerful and mature child performances from Smaran Ghosal which helps to light up one of the most important and best films to come out of India. This is a key and influential gem of a moving drama and is a deserved 5 stars and one of Sanjeet Rays best.
