I realized that, between you and a world forever out of reach, there is a strange and empty tunnel' This masterpiece from Bela Tarr uses it's minimalist style to establish a isolated world full of alienation. this is through the simple camera work that takes in the surroundings and shows all the empty space as well as the marvellous muted performance from Milos Szekely that helps to show the want and create a desparing film that shows how he is so trapped in this system of alienation that he cannot form a relationship. this is a brilliant movie and probably Bela Tarrs second best movie, a brilliant 4.5 stars.
