Hacksaw Ridge

On rewatch, this remains one of my favorite movies in general, and is right in contention with Saving Private Ryan for my favorite war movie. I love movies where the main character's entire worldview is tested, and while Im not a pacifist, I cant help but absolutely respect this American hero and his bravery. These war scenes are top notch. Bloody, gory, and absolutely visceral. Never sugarcoats the horror of what it was like up there. And while I always knew Andrew Garfield was talented, this movie cemented him as one of my favorites along with Silence the same year. He is phenomenal in this film and has such a likeable screen presence. This movie is close to perfect. I have pointless nitpicks but they just dont matter. Score: 9.7/10
