this should of been right up my alley. weird stylistic choices, found family, a good cast playing bunch of yuri biddies (and keith sutherland) but NO. it was messy and terrible and boring and ugly  krysten ritter was bad in this 😭 why was she suckin down the ciggys so hard every second it was annoying asl FUN FACTS: completely unrelated to the movie but idc bc it is cool. bald eagle nests weigh like 2 TONS?? and the heaviest on record was 6,000 pounds

genuinely got no idea what the fuck this is. might take the cake as the worst movie i’ve ever seen? it was certainly worse than ghost story which also might be the only thing i can compare this too in a way. i said like two reviews ago that a certain movie was the embodiment of most of the things i usually hate in movies but this took that and absolutely fucking ran off with it 😭 mumblecore stupid wide shots that don’t do anything, and a huge waste of one of the better casts i’ve seen for a movie. so pretentious and awful.  what tf was up with all the weird belly obsession in this? made me super uncomfortable idk if it was like a kink thing for the director or what bc it certainly had no plot/thematic relevance bc there was no fucking plot  FUN FACT: according to ryan gosling he also has no idea wtf this was about and said there wasn’t even a script for it so yea thanks instant distrust and dislike towards anyone who would give this more than even like a 2 star. 💩💩💩 also the lead actress in my two least favorite movies is literally the same person thats crazy. i really like her too which is weird

definitely have no issues with the direction here. david prior is fantastic and the amount of world building he does in his work is beautiful !! personally didn’t find the story that interesting, not my cup of tea horror wise. i can tell it had clever writing and a satisfying ending tho  i remember trying to watch this with caden and turning it off 😭 def understand why FUN FACT: this takes place in pennsylvania and they used the term onion snow which is a local thing to the state which basically just means a late snowfall after the spring onions are starting to sprout

stinkyyyyy  the concept is basically just a more gamified final destination but instead of fun creative deaths theres just these laughably bad cgi humanoid figures that chase down and shove their arms in your mouth. genuinely some of the lamest dialogue and writing i’ve seen which was actually kinda fun at times paired with the weak acting.  there were some fun song choices and an interesting score at times which kinda ended up getting wasted the character dynamics made absolutely no sense idk why all these people that hated eachother were constantly hanging out 😭  the fucking loser Rel character was MISERABLE  FUN FACT: idk i’m just a big fan of aztec history its so cool and they were so advanced and huge and nobody knows about it. they had like 200-300k people at the same time rome only had like 50k 🙅‍♀️ they were geniuses agriculturally and had floating gardens and stuff and their city was kinda like venice it had a bunch of canals so cool and cute.
