I cant believe this is the first time i watch this. certainly wont be the last

fist my bump

I cant believe I wasted an hour on this absolute bullshit von trier calls a movie. I clocked out halfway through because even if you (somehow) look beyond the fucking concerningly creative gore, the movie itself sucked. its trying so hard to be different and artsy and philosophical that its just pretentious and embarrassing. if you found this to be a good movie ur genuinely an incel who is trying hard to be artsy and you probably have some niche philosophers quote in your bio that you searched “niche philosopher quote” to find. yeah see this is the kind of shit that leads me to believe surrealist art and expression in film is truly gone because clearly it is possible to aim too far and reach NOWHERE. did i mention this is embarrassing? you can tell that von trier tried (haha) to be creative and he just threw in gore and called it art. Now, about the gore. I have seen worse, but this was still bad. We have become so scarily desensitized that the things people have to say about this movie was that the gore was “boring” and “predictable”..??? people are dying?? and you see it happen? i understand the desensitization. i too have fallen victim to that, but my point is its truly such a weird thing to come and say that the gore is boring. cant you see hes trying to make it extreme so you think hes cool and should be your favorite niche director? are you doing THE EXACT SAME THING by saying ur too good for “boring” gore? you people are sick. dont go out searching for the most gore you can find. that doesnt make you cooler or artsier it just makes you weird and gives you a chance to run against von trier for number one incel. it pains me to see that we have lost our human capability to create and appreciate art to the point that we are categorizing inhumane acts of violence as things to admire, rate, and find enticing. if there was any meaning in that movie, which trier probably did not intend for, it should be that you *cannot* make ‘beautiful’ art out of sheer violence. maybe you can craft, a house in his case, but if you just throw in kills and more kills, you cannot call that art. its in the same way that if you throw paint on a paper, you cannot call that art. maybe it is subjective, but, come on. lets be more creative. dont say you like this movie because you think its different and indie and alternative, because it really isnt. its just lame and trying way too hard. dont be the boy who cried niche. Maybe i would have had more to say if i finished the movie, maybe i would have had less. regardless, i did not like this. thanks
