shit is FUCKEDDDDD 😭 I will still always long for an actually faithful adaption but thematically, this was true to it. I was worried about an older Victor (and no Clerval >:( ) but with the changes, it worked. okay now spoilerssssss - - - - - - - - - Elizabeth having a real personality 🥹✌️Creature and Elizabeth subplot threw me for a fucking loooop but it was interesting..? idk. either way, very glad Elizabeth was not his cousin and only his sister-in-law… ish? the concept of the creature having vague memories of all the men who make him up aughhh… the mix of christian and pagan religious imagery had me fucked up…. also giving Victor an abusive dad and lwk religious psychosis was kinda wild but again, it made up for the fact he was not basically a teenager going through this yk? cause ig it was just the same story as the book but he’s a grown ahh man who should’ve known better than to bring life into the world and ditch it immediately. i also liked how he tried caring for the creature and then they forgave in the end… THE END!! The end has me fucked bro.., the “i forgive you” gave me Good Omens whiplash lwk but that’s just my brain rot lmao 😭 so so so so beautiful augh…
