Poor Things
The most lush, wacky world brimming with some of the best characters in recent memory. Gray's novel seemed like an impossible one to adapt when I read it earlier this year, but I knew within the first minute of the film that this wild story was in the right hands.
Emma Stone gives my favourite performance of her career as Bella Baxter the passionate, inquisitive explorer, reading men for filth on her quest of self-actualization. Mark Ruffalo is also perfectly awful as Duncan Wedderburn. He is clearly in his freaky little guy renaissance, a big victory for In the Cut super fans everywhere (me).
I can’t wait to watch this again!
