Pure *Cinema. It’s actually crazy how hard Joaquin Phoenix carries this movie, a well deserved Oscar*.
As a film, it’s great. Acting and editing is so good it doesn’t need an out-of-this-world script. I think that if you removed the DC/Joker branding, the movie would perform the same… but, if you really care about the source material and accurate adaptations I’m sure you can find plenty of flaws.
Even though I’m part of that group, I can’t deny this film as a whole is top tier. Mind-blowing how they went from this to a musical….
