I don't understand the hate this documentary gets. In my opinion, the story itself is frustrating. It's a very complicated case that can make the viewer angry because of the way many people behaved, especially the suspect's parents. Even so, I think this documentary is very well made. It shows the story from every important perspective, the parents, former friends, and even the suspect herself. It covers all the important points and handles them with respect.

It is very hard to look at this documentary as one complete piece. The story itself was very emotional, especially if this is the first time you learn about this tragedy. I don't think this documentary should be judged because of how the people in it acted, like some reviews below do. It should be judged by how it tells the whole story. In my opinion, it did not do that very well. Using this poster was a very bad idea. Showing the main criminal on the cover like this feels very disrespectful. Also, the title of the documentary can be understood in a very wrong way. I think it is meant to describe the motherly instinct of the main criminal's boyfriend's mother, but next to the criminal's face, the title just looks very inappropriate!
