Sad how far Dito Montiel’s fallen off.

Call me sick, but kinda goody in that schlocky 2000s war fashion, less Saving Private Ryan more Enemy at the Gates. But I mean people love that too so go figure. For me, this is like a pulp combo of 08’s Rambo meets Hacksaw Ridge meets that opening fake scene in Tropic Thunder. Not a lot here to be taken seriously but there’s fun to be had.

Now I gotta rewatch both Citizen Kane and Touch of Evil cause this might lowkey be my favorite outta the three, in my limited scope of his filmography of course.

I was super, super late to Schindler’s List being me, and I remember seeing this in theaters with my dad before I even touched the Spielberg classic and was floored. Cut to a few years later and Schindler’s List is also great, and I never revisited this one, kinda thinking it was my teenage mind wanting to pander to art films that had me liking this so much. Almost ten years later, and sorry yep it’s the better of the two for me, still as merciless as can be. Five months of sound design goodness gracious
