Barbie

6 months later I finally watch it lol! As much as I wanted to be a hater of this movie, it was really good!  The sets and cinematography were really iconic, and I loved the colors and effects. Also, all the Barbie's that were actually real dolls Mattel made! I could have done with a tad bit less Ken! (That dancing scene was a lot). Gerwig describes the set as "authentically artificial" and I LOVE that!! So pink and cute and 2D. I felt like it was a tad surface level with the feminist message, BUT as it's marketed to a huge audience and has been the biggest movie in a while I can appreciate what it does for young women like my sisters (16 and 9) who absolutely love it! Another great film from Gerwig.
