Ocean Waves

There’s something about this specific film that makes it my favourite film of all time. I’m not sure why this film specifically is my favourite, the plot could be improved and not enough romance was there to make it a romance film but something about it makes it love it so much. The film itself is so simple yet beautiful, I like how nice the settings looked and the little scenes photographed into a white border as if it were a photo or a flashback of a important memory in Taku’s head. The animations are smooth and satisfying. I think the way they romanticised the small city and its features like the castle or the docks makes me nostalgic to my trip to Japan and when I visited Mitaka.
