Ocean Waves

It turns out my favourite film of all-time has a live-action sequel! Honestly I find this film difficult to hard to understand because it's in japanese and only has chinese subtitles. I can read a decent amount of chinese but I struggled through most of the film because I was trying to read and translate it in my head while also watching the actual film. The film does adapt the characters from its animated version quite well and they act pretty similar which is surprising from a TV drama. There are certain scenes that do feel wholesome and sweet and I honestly like most of the story, although a few parts I am not the biggest fan of. I adore the wide shots the film does and though it isn't anywhere as visually appealing as the still shots the animated film did, I still love the way it looks. The conclusion of the film is the best part with the fireworks scene, such a great way to end the story. I think I love this film because I adore its prequel though, so I wouldn't recommend watching this unless you loved the first film and can read Chinese or understand Japanese and don't mind that it's a TV drama with TV drama acting and a TV drama storyline. If you don't mind those then you'd love it too!
