Joint Security Area

This film is amazing, and after loving oldboy and really enjoying decision to leave this has solidified Park Chan Wook as one of my all time favourite directors. You really root for these friends to keep being able to just piss around, and you have so much fun watching them do this for the middle of the film, that it is so upsetting when they move back to their instincts but you do also have this feeling of knowing it couldnt have lasted. The film then ends in a majorly upsetting way, however what is so interesting is how Park Chan Wook has said that while its upsetting now, he hopes there will be a future where people can watch the film and laugh at the absurdity of it all instead of being sad about it. Overall a phenomenal film, despite an awful english dub for one of the characters.
