film ass movie, it was good but kinda forgettable. my key takeaway was: “when we come back, the parade of men begins, and some of them come bearing gifts” shoutout pheobe bridgers. shoutout d&b jump scare wow

expected it to be amazing, was amazing. witty and heartfelt and genuine and funny. I love a piece of art that conveys a feeling/experience I’ve felt but never explicitly acknowledged.

it’s not epic the musical and it’s also not the odyssey I wanted. I’ll probs write a longer review when it’s not 2am because this movie is three hours(!) of the nolan classics I don’t love (500% volume, poorly written women, fighting scenes). I loved the sense of unexpected what the fuck I just wanted food and now i’m getting eaten, but most everything else fell super flat. maybe I’ll expand this review, or maybe i’ll just want epic :) also: I just never got the sense he actually wanted to go home?! which is maybe the point? but how do you have the odyssey with no homecoming?!
