i'm mika, 17. girl stitched together by horror films, broken futures, and notes. 🕯

Rewatching this always pisses me off because this one selfish guy caused one domino effect just because he wanted to LIVE. Nothing wrong with that but use your common sense. Anyways. I am still Ma Dong-seok’s character died fighting for his life so his pregnant wife and the others can be safe. I salute you. Best father of the earth and my heart hated Gong Yoo’s character at the start but it melted gradually as the film continues. :(

It’s an okay movie. I didn’t like the structure of this movie. How they narrated the present and the past where the Filipinos are still invaded by the Spaniards. The only thing I liked this movie is the start with the GomBurZa and the death of Bonifacio. It’s dramatized beautifully and the post-ending where it’s connected to Heneral Luna. The lesson I took from this movie; no matter how much good you did. People will always find flaws on you. History rarely remembers anyone as perfect and perhaps that’s because no one ever truly is.

*This review may contain spoilers.* watching this in big screen and loud sounds feels different because it makes you feel like you are in that scene as well. worth the money. i wish bear should’ve just confessed. but he had no guts for that. like come on dude. i am so frustrated with him all scenes. do you think that is her fault for acting that way when it is all your own doing that she is acting weird because you wished that? and then he just ends his life to be free from the consequences. Then Nikki Freeman is left with it. She wasn’t free from that scenes they showed at all. It just saddens me because this can happen to a person as well. I relate to this heavily. Nikki. Should. Have. Been. A. Writer. Fuck.
