This was a pretty spectacular piece of cinema history. That early shot of them floating up the cliffside gave me goosebumps. The score was so powerful, sometimes making up for some lackluster line deliveries.
Holy shit that finale had me smiling so hard, I won’t stop thinking about it for a while. Standout performances from Margaret and Demi obviously, amazingly simple score, one of the best horror movies I’ve ever seen.
Eerily beautiful and quiet, sometimes to a comical degree. I’m not sure I’ll rewatch this movie often but it was an excellent movie to go into with no information/expectations.
This illustrative animation style is so stunning and makes the story feel more personal and wonderful. Amazing voice work, great score (minus that random pop song moment in the middle). Almost had me crying in the theater.
I don’t know why people are hating so much on this movie, I thought it was super effective throughout. The dream sequences and musical performances were often amazing and the acting overall was impressive. Great type work in the title sequence, and those musical sets were beautiful.
