OKAY I GET IT IM IMMERSED IM LOCKED IN THE SHOTS ARE AMAZING ITS SO ARTHOUSE NOW PLAY THE NEXT FUCKING SCENE IM BEGGING YOU please oh my god. I thought maybe its just me, but ive sat through a film of someone doing nothing at a reception for an hour (Nightshift), or Water Lilies, or Liz and the Bluebird, they're my favourite films. If someone asked me what genre of film I like I'd say something atmospheric, quiet, where nothing happens. but ooohh no this damn film is making me take it back cus this. is too much. maybe i need adhd medication. or honestly a proper cinema experience im 75% sure would make me enjoy this twice as much but as of right now ive never battled with my attention span more in my entire life. Next time someone asks me what film to watch about an evil computer in space im gonna say Wall-E. I don't care like I appreciate this film, I think it can be really amazing given the right setting, and one day i might give it another try, but I genuinely hated watching it

came in w really bad expectations, and the first half did feel like it was gonna be underwhelming but the 2nd half played really well - and i really loved how they expanded on the concept, and that descending scene with the layers and contortions likee maybe something was missing, but making a whole film about the backrooms was challenging enough and i cant think of what wldve been done to make it better also something something subtext about not needing to open every door and understand/resolve every part of ourselves

what would u do if ur child turned out to be a homophobic spawn of satan thats a master manipulator i was screaming like YEA THE DOOR HAS NO KEYHOLE HOW DID YOU SEE THEM ALLEGEDLY KISSING and then she somehow pulled out that bullshit and I wanted to tear my hair out.
