Kill Bill: Vol. 1

It pisses me off that most movies look the exact same now. Similar shot composition, lighting, color grading, editing, everything. You can just tell which directors are dulling their message to appeal to the masses.  This is NOT one of those movies.  This oozes authenticity, passion, and FUN from beginning to end. It embodies the idea of “make the movie YOU want to make, and fuck everyone else.” So many of the choices made in this movie would make your average film school professor cry. But truly, as long as you fully commit to your message, the right audience will find you. Movies like this inspire me as a filmmaker to forget about industry expectations and trying to please other people, and just make what I feel compelled to make. The result is always better anyway.  TLDR: maybe film bros have a point because this fucking ROCKED  Community quote: “you LOVE Tarantino” (maybe i do…..)
