Sentimental Value

A wonderful film. The colours, the characters, their emotions and relationships- all of it resonated deeply with me.  Agnes was my favourite character. We can feel that she still has resentment toward her father, but at the same time she doesn’t push him away, believing that he can prove himself as a good father. To me, she feels like a bridge between Gustav and Nora.  Gustav himself is a strange and confusing character for me. He’s just as prickly and closed-off as Nora. Which is why it’s so hard for them to have a proper conversation.  The film wasn’t as sad as I expected, but there was still an uncomfortable heaviness in my chest throughout the whole film.
