Perfect Blue
One of the earliest entry of "amazing movie, I don't want to watch it again" that I have memory. I watched like 7 years ago (I was 15) and it brain-fucked me; but there was the oportunity to watch this in the big screen, so I had to watch it again.
We are dragged into Mima's psyche during a state of crisis which gets worse after the trauma and alienation that the mysogynistic entertainment world pushes into female artists; the internet also adds salt to the injury as it turns into the vessel of paranoia. With Mima's identity broken, it fragments into three main Mimas: the real one that struggles to keep up with reality; the one that's born from hatred that seems like love (Rumi's envy); the one that's born from longing from approval which in reality is the desire to subdue to an external (the weird incel fan).
I love the mind games the film pulls onto the viewer. The birth of the "dream-cliche" that's so flawless that doesn't feel like it. Amazing film, I don't think I want to watch it again, again.
