I, Robot
honestly not so bad it’s unwatchable… but everyone besides sunny and will smith are one-dimensional and restricted to surrounding character cliches. the one-liners and jokes are just eh? i’ve seen this before? it’s different on will smith though, surprisingly.
i think the first two acts were definitely the strongest. like i can see where they could’ve had some very strong commentary about the role of man of playing god, or even a somewhat modern criticism against the ethics of limiting a practically conscious being (as done in the game, detroit become human).
but no, it literally reduces itself to being every other blockbusting film at the this time and wastes its stronger elements into big fighting scenes and oh got to save the love interest!!
besides all the negativity i really enjoyed the world building and surprisingly the cgi for the robots. you can tell they put actual thought into this future design and i oddly really miss that in modern film.
plus its overall a better commentary on today. ai is really awful everyone.
