i always feel a bit hesitant going into these hallowed classics, thinking that my lofty expectations can’t be met.  however, that wasn’t the case with *The Seventh Seal*. my first Bergman picture more than lived up to its reputation. i found myself obviously stunned with the philosophical commentary, but also with every other facet in the production of this thing. a masterful execution, at every level from everyone involved. i need a bit more time to truly digest it, but i am sure my adoration of *The Seventh Seal *and Bergman will  only rise. ***“why does he hide in a cloud of half-promises and unseen miracles?”***
