Came for the gothic horror, stayed because I ended up feeling way too bad for a giant stitched-up man. This version of Frankenstein is gorgeous, gloomy, and somehow a lot sadder than I expected. Jacob Elordi’s portrayal of the Creature was probably my favorite part of the film, but mostly I just wanted someone to give him a hug and a therapist. Oscar Isaac is equally incredible as Victor Frankenstein. He brings so much intensity and charisma to the role that you can’t look away from him. The wolf scenes lol. Those genuinely freaked me out. that’s going to live in my head rent-free for a while. The kind of movie that lingers in your head for hours after it’s over.
