i’m not sure whether i’d call this film sophisticated trash or trashy sophistication but either way it matches up schlock and sensibility so perfectly. the use of vampires that follow every trope and stereotype in the book to explore themes of cultural identity and appropriation never feels disjointed even though it sounds like it should at least a little bit we need more musical horror beyond horror comedy musicals
