Obsession
Curry Barker executed it perfectly when he intended (as stated in an interview) to make Nikki seem as human as possible post posession yet showcase how truly horrible it is to override one's autonomy and it truly makes this film resonate with me even more as it feels like an allegory instead of the usual horror genre which I kind of brush off after. Inde 10/10. Flawless. M Johnston's performance is underappreciated, he manages to showcase how much of an average joe he is at the beginning, making you root for him and as the movie goes on he unmasks his traits of cowardice selfishness and lack of accountability which draws back to the fact that, unfortunately, a lot of Bears do exist. Which is more terrifying than an imaginary creature with scissor hands or a clown living in the sewers.
