Babylon
• The scene where they try to shoot after sound is introduced made me laugh so hard. Everything keeps going wrong. But when you think about it, that struggle was real. What feels easy and funny to us now was terrifying back then. One mistake ruined the whole scene. They needed everything to be perfect just to capture a single scene.
• The line about “A child born in fifty years will stumble across your image flickering on a screen and feel he knows you, like a friend, though you breathed your last before he breathed his first.” Now almost a hundred years later, that is us. We watch people who are long gone and still feel like we know them. Babylon shows that movies are more than stories. They keep people alive.
