the face of love’s rage

“executive producer sam levinson” oh i’m sure

oh pearl you are so loved and understood by the small town girls. This film is perfect to me. I’m glad I rewatched it because I genuinely don’t know how I ever favored X over this. The script is so beautifully written (that monologue!!!) and it actually provides a really interesting class commentary. It takes some excellent writing to leave me both frightened and heartbroken at the same time. It’s difficult to watch as Pearl is slowly pushed to her breaking point of utter insanity. However, there is a sick sense of justice that comes along with the crimes she commits. Especially when she kills the projectionist……. because if i had a nickel for every time i let a man hit who would inevitably lose all interest in me as a human being after… i would have a lot more than two nickels.
