Lady Bird
“I wish that you liked me.””Of course I love you.””But do you like me?”
This movie is made for the eldest daughter, the youngest daughter, and the only daughter. This movie is made for us who are our mother's daughter, the literal personification of our mothers and their dreams. The things our mothers wanted and never got, the dreams that were once there, what could have been. Even after years of my last watch of Lady Bird (2017), this movie still and always will get me. That last scene of her mother holding back her tears while also holding on to that slight hope of seeing her daughter before fully taking off. The plead for forgiveness for her word while your mother is washing the dishes. This movie is made for me. I need to stop writing this review or this will soon turn into a full-on essay.
